I find that technology is a super tricky subject. There are pros and cons to just about everything technological. However, do the pros outweigh the cons? Lots of kids my age, including myself, have an iPhone. I know that all of us are super addicted to it; it has everything we need right there in front of us. As much as I absolutely love my phone, I can't help but think sometimes that I'd be better off without it.
My iPhone distracts my from doing my homework, chores, and plenty of other things. Some say well just put it away until you're done, but it's so not that easy! I also constantly feel the need to check my social media accounts to the point of obsession. I know I'm not the only one, and it's kind of ridiculous that we all act this way. Everywhere you look teens are on their phones, and it's not really a good thing. Make sure to answer my poll below about technology obsession, and maybe go outside or something.
Since the first day of school when Mrs. Fields first told us about iSTE I completely believed that it would happen. She spoke about it so confidently and passionately there was no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't. Then in December when I found out we are officially going, I wasn't surprised, but definitely excited. There will be tons of fundraising going on this year, and I'm prepared to help in any way possible. I really hope I can attend the conference; it's such an amazing opportunity. The experience alone would be something I'd remember for a lifetime.
Creating my Weebly was an easy thing to do, for the most part that is. I did come across a few problems, however I was able to easily solve them. The first thing that happened to me, was that my pages were leading to blank screens. This fixed itself on its own; I didn't know what to do. Another thing that caused me difficulty was making sure I had the correct pages in the right order. To make sure everything was right I checked my notes, then adjusted my pages to match them. Besides this, the Weebly has been easy to use, and a great tool to present our work.
There are lots of media tools to present The Halloween Tree page. Frames and Prezi are two simple and fun ones. However, I'm going for a more challenging approach, I'm making a Common Craft video. I won't be using the actual website, as it costs money, but taking their idea and creating my own. All it requires is cutting out pictures or figures, and making a video using them, to present your information. You will also need to create a script, as you will be narrating the entire thing. Below is my video, make sure to check it out. I encourage all of you to try it; it's such a creative way to present!
